United Lahu Youth Organization

The Education system of Burma has rapidly deteriorated after the junta came into power. Education is low; most children have no chance in attending school, as the state of education in Burma is so inconsistent. Even though there are schools in Lahu areas, which operate on their own, their effectiveness in teaching is hindered by lack of teachers and stationary.

To solve these problems, we provide stationary, arrange teacher training for the teachers and help them with standard living conditions (costs etc) as much as we can. In the summer holidays, we also teach the children Lahu literature.

Program Proposal: with additional funds we would like to run at least 2 -3 training programs from Mae Sot each year. Currently we run five a year inside Burma, we would also like to increase the consistency of those area.
